Coming Along

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Things are moving along well with the revamp. The About, Filmography (complete with links to all videos), FAQ, and Contact pages have been loaded and should be fully functional. I’ll be adding more in the coming days, albeit as time permits with Christmas right around the corner. Speaking of which, hope you guys have a nice one and be safe. 🙂

Damn, I’m 30

Reading Time: < 1 minuteWhere does the time go? Seems like yesterday I was getting up at the crack of dawn to throw on some clothes, shove a bowl of cold cereal down my throat, and make it out to the bus stop in time to catch a ride to grade school.

Where does the time go? Seems like yesterday I was getting up at the crack of dawn to throw on some clothes, shove a bowl of cold cereal down my throat, and make it out to the bus stop in time to catch a ride to grade school.

All these years later, little has changed. I get up a little later, but still throw on the clothes and eat that bowl of frosty grain and milk.

As anyone traversing this milestone might expect, I can’t help but reflect on my life up to this point… trials and tribulations, dead-end jobs, failed relationships, etc. The usual stuff. I’m thankful I can hold my head up, realizing the trials were learning experiences from which I took away valuable wisdom. The failed relationships are merely past chapters, as there’s only one that matters now. As for the dead-end jobs… I’m not quite done with those just yet. They’re needed for a little while longer as they continue to finance my long-term goals, so I’ll use them for that purpose.

I face this day with a sense of genuine gratitude. I’ve had many acquaintances over the course of 30 years, but only a few true friends. I’ll see several of them later today. Looking forward to that and getting to spend the later part of the evening with my lovely fiancée.

I don’t normally publicly acknowledge this day, but it’s the big 3-0 so what the hell…….Happy Birthday to me!

Hacking My Droid Incredible

Reading Time: 3 minutesI grew tired (and tired) of waiting all the while being forced to carry a smartphone that only utilizes half of what it’s capable of. I did some vast research and took it upon myself to unlock the true power of my Droid Incredible by upgrading to Froyo on my own.

For all you Droid users out there, this is a follow up to the subject I addressed on LK Shoot 64.

If you’ve been waiting patiently (or seething) for the long-awaited, and yet still unfulfilled long-promised Froyo update to be pushed out by Verizon, you don’t have to keep sitting here with your fingers crossed, hoping that the almighty powers-that-be will grace you with the courtesy of actually following through on what the hell they promised they’d do sometime soon, or otherwise forevermore.

LK Vinyard?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I always wondered who this “American History X Guy” that I supposedly “looked like” was before I ever saw the movie. Back when I sported a shaved head and a goatee (before the full beard era) I used to get that all the time. One day I got curious and watched the movie. “Ah, I see,” I mumbled to myself. “I guess I do resemble him a little.”

Just shaved the beard off for the first time in more than four years (I shave my head practically once every two or three weeks) and immediately the comments returned after all that time.

yea, this yea, this too

Looking at the two pics side-by-side, one can see we’re definitely not brothers. But, I suppose I can see the similarities and why I’d remind American History X fans of Derek Vinyard, (aka Ed Norton) although I’ve never forced anyone to “bite the curb”.

Btw, the movie was quite good. Couldn’t help but wonder if Derek would revert to his old ways had the movie gone on longer or if there’d been a sequel.
